Carmen "Onion Farmer" Basilio, the greatest boxer of all times passed away last early of November 7, 2012 at 3:00 AM in the morning in Rochester Memorial Hospital, known as the "Onion Farmer" who was born in Canastota. One of the very best boxer together with Sugar Ray Robinson during their Era.


In honor of its Local Hero, the Hall of Fame announced that its flag will be flown at half-staff. He became a local hero of his town because of the historical fight he made that gave pride to his Town when he became a Two-Time World Champion when he beat Robinson to win the World Welterweight Belt and that fight had been known as the Fight of The Year in 1957 but the Title  has been taken back by Robinson during their rematch six month after their fight.
